Ranjani Vedanthan, Director and Instructor, studied Bharatanatyam (Vazhuvoor style) under Guru Smt. Padmini Ravi of Bangalore, India for six years. Starting in 1988, from middle-school until college, Ranjani traveled to India every summer to study Carnatic Sangeet and Bharatanatyam, classical south-Indian vocal music and dance. In 1995, she completed her arangetrams in Bangalore, India and in Denver, and was the second "Bharatanatyam graduation" in Colorado. Ranjani has briefly studied ballet, belly dance, and Kathak, the beautiful north-Indian classical dance style, and in 2003 she received her ghungroos, a significant milestone that symbolizes the commitment of the dancer to the study of dance.
Her choreography has been featured in various types of productions, ranging from ballet to Native-American to spoken-word. Ranjani has performed throughout America and in various countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
Ranjani holds multiple degrees and certificates, and is a self-employed teacher of K-12 learners via various digital platforms, as well as a seasonal tax preparer. Since her happy place is dancing, Ranjani ensures she continues her passion for dance by regularly learning, creating, and performing dance items which she presents at workshops and shows.
